RE: Slide and Warrenty Question

You already have it figured out. That repair company, for whatever reason, is not competent. Call the warranty company and be on their side. Explain these repair people are just throwong parts at a problem, at their expense, in a futile attempt to fix the slide. Explain you would like to take the coach to a competent repair facility to get it repaired with minimally expense and inconvenience. I bet they approve. Then insist to the repair company to put your coach back together and move on. Don't let them tell you it will cost money to put it back together. If their last repair fixed the problem, then they would reassemble your coach, wouldn't they? And they would reassemble it for the money they received for that one repair.

RE: Winter facilities

You can count on monthly RV parks to charge around $500 monthly. Many parks that will include WiFi and electric. However, finding RV parks open in the winter months in the cold climates will be difficult, and actually living comfortably in most RVs in the winter in NY and PA will be even more difficult.

Both of my Prevost are there. Had to get the chauffeur to drive one, and I drove the other. That way, the butler, housekeeper, chauffeur, and gardener all have a place to stay will I "camp."

RE: Question On Towing

is there any advice I can give them? or am I worrying for nothing.
MYOB
Mind your own business.
Sure his little vehicle will be panting towing the trailer. But as long as it is SAFE, and it probably is, then why take the wind from his sails dampening his happiness with the new trailer telling him how it won't tow very fast or strong. He will figure that out himself.
He obviously did not ask for your advice before purchasing and he doesn't want your unsolicited criticism now.

RE: Proper purchasing procedure question.(this Friday)

Absolutely get it perfect before they get any money. PERIOD! Once you pay them, they have less motivation to make it right. I can hear it now, after they get the money and you have a problem, "Just bring it back and our service department will schedule it for repair." This is what you will hear to get it repaired before they have your money, "Stop everything in the service department! This trailer has to be fixed NOW!"
Pay with your personal check. Why go to the hassle to get the cashier's check and they are no more secire than the personal check.

RE: Skirting a 5er

Use electric heaters as much as the electric service will allow. With 30 amp service, you can use two heaters with careful use of other electric appliances. Those little ceramic heaters from Wallmart, less than $20 each, make a lot of heat. The two heaters will produce as much heat, at 100% efficiency, as almost 1/2 of the typically RV furnance. A heat tape on the water hose is mandatory. Not sure about the sewer lines, but I bet they will need one, too, especially if the valves are exposed. Consider using a dehumidifier to address the condensation issue. If your trailer has a heated underbelly, and it should for your use, then it already has a vapor barrier built in at the bottom of the trailer. Another vapor barrier will not hurt, but not necessary.

RE: Places to Full-Time near Memphis

The one I would choose first is the Agricenter. Phone is 901-355-1977.
I stayed there some years ago, and then they only had a few sites with sewer hook ups. Double check the availability of full hook up sites.

Just based on the verbiage of your post, you do not have enough knowledge of electricity to tackle this project, so I suggest you seek competent, professional help.

RE: How True is this!!!!

Here is the real test for the K&N Filters (it does take some serious reasoning power so bear with me):
K&N claims to produce more power and mileage because it allows more air into the engine. Lets just assume that the filtration of the OEM and the K&N are the same. Again, the claim is the K&N produces more power and mileage. And all for the price of an air filter.
If that were really true, you would see a K&N Filter on almost every vehicle for sale in the U.S. Why? It increases mileage and power, which from marketing and Federal CAFE standards are very desirable. Automotive engineers spend careers attempting to achieve this goal.
What the K&N Filter is very good at is marketing hype. What a lot of consumers are very good at is swollowing this hype hook, line, and sinker.

RE: 2008 Dodge 3500 4WD

First make sure the height of the truck bed is compatible with your trailer.
Second, refer to www.dodge.com for official ratings. I didn't make it clickable, so you have a little work to do!

RE: Jayco warranty work

Should I get Jayco to call the other dealer to make arrangements or should I just go to the closer dealer and speak with service manager and make arrangements through him? Sorry so long winded. Thanks.
First, you must get Jayco to approve using a dealer not in their network. Then you must get the dealer to agree to do the repairs with the pay rate approved by Jayco. Good luck as I doubt it will happen.
